The Episcopal Church, like most communities, have a short hand way of speaking and the terms used can be mystifying. The National Episcopal Website hosts a great dictionary of Episcopal definitions, which can be found by clicking the button below.
Children are welcome to participate where you and they are comfortable.  They are welcome in church with their family, or in Godly Play (our school year education program), Veggie Tales (our summer program), or in the nursery.

From September through May we use Godly Play as our Sunday School program for children grades preschool through 5th grade during the 10:15am service.  For our teens grades 6th through 12th we have "Youth Talk and Donuts" held during the same time.  All children and teens rejoin the service midway for Communion.  There is nursery care available for children under 3 years old during the 10:15 service.

During the summer months we offer Veggie Tales for children of all ages during the 10:15 service.
In addition to the Sunday morning Youth Talk and Donuts class, Holy Cross also offers OTEG (Ordinary Teens Experiencing God) youth group.  OTEG (for grades 6-12) meets twice a month on Sunday evenings during the school year, and also hosts different activities throughout the year such as a snow retreat and trip to the corn maze.  There are many opportunities at Holy Cross for teens to gain volunteer experience, serving as camp counselors at VBS and TKA, leading the Stations of the Cross service on Good Friday, holding the egg hunt on Easter Sunday, and ushering during church services.
TKA stands for "The Kids Academy."  Holy Cross has two sessions of TKA each year:  one during the month of October and one during Lent.  Each session of TKA consists of four Wednesday afternoons from 3:30 until 5:30pm.  Activities include arts and crafts, yoga, bread making, games, and a Halloween party, just to name a few.  TKA is run by one of our priests with the help of adult and teen volunteers.
Holy Cross Families host several fun events throughout the year.  In the fall they hold an all-parish potluck and game night.  Families gather together to bake Nicholas Cookies in December, and host the Shrove Tuesday pancake supper at the beginning of Lent.  In May they have an end of school year dinner together.  Holy Cross families also work together to host coffee hour once a month, and can often be found socializing after Sunday service near the church playground!
